Ted is a founder, past
president and original membership coordinator of the Arizona Yoga Association. He's been
practicing Yoga since 1971 and teaching since 1976. He
received his Sanskrit title (Srinathadas, "Servant of
Lakshmi-Vishnu") from Satguru Sant Keshavadas
in 1994. In 2000 he earned registry with the Yoga Alliance
at the 500-Hour level, "grandfathered-in" due to his years of
experience. He maintained his registration with YA until
2004. Ted counts among his influences Swami Satchidananda, Mahatma Gandhi, Paramhansa Yogananda, Rama Jyoti Vernon,
Jeanne Saint-Amour and Sangeet Kaur Khalsa. |

Yoga "calms the howling of the mind," restoring our
balance and inner peace. Ted's Gentle Yoga combines
kundalini
breathing (pranayama) with stretches and bodywork (asana)
to release tension and to re-learn relaxation, thereby reducing
pain and stress. His original inspiration was the Integral
Yoga of Sri Swami Satchidananda. Most of the class is done
on the floor, on a soft mat, with variations offered for those
who prefer to sit on a chair.
Ted's specialty is
Therapeutic Rehabilitation on both the physical and emotional
levels. He believes in gradually improving flexibility and
strength through self-awareness and compassion, rather than by
force or impatience. He teaches each student to value what
he or she has, instead of regretting what has been lost. Classes include all skill
levels. Students learn to work with their bodies
individually, in a non-competitive way, by whatever method is most
appropriate for them.

Ted views Yoga as a naturally-evolving dialogue between mind,
body and spirit, that makes us more understanding and accepting
of ourselves - and, therefore, of others. Ted's instruction and
guidance can provide physical and emotional benefits for younger
and older students alike. Your flexibility will improve
noticeably, along with your breath capacity and the ability to
calm yourself under stress. Ted's Gentle Yoga has
helped people to lower their blood pressure and to reduce
migraines - even to control panic attacks! Come to a class, and discover
the ways in which it can benefit you. |
